PediChad

The life adventures and stories of Austin, TX pedicab driver, Chad.

Friday and Saturday night I pedicabbed and had a great time. The weather was nice and lots of people out. It was a little slow pedalwise but I still came home with some cash (better than spending!). I was surprised to see so many new faces riding. There seem to be more new riders for the other company and a few new for Capital Pedicab.
Being absent for the past few months I realized that I didn't miss it when it was slow, but I did miss the being outside riding and talking to customers and heckling others. I also forgot how much I missed girls grabbing, massaging, and fondling my ass while I ride and getting paid for it.
What I also found amuusing was that when I met some of the new people and introduced myself as Chad, they would then ask "as in PediChad?" So I'm glad to know the site is getting read and it's fun being recognized for it.
On another note, Saturday night I got my first $100 tip and it was for two blocks. The guy came up and asked "so how does this work? what's the cost" I replied, "aw you know, a lil o this, a lil o that." He laughed and asked "do you have change for a hundred?" I said "sure". He said, "here's the deal, I'll give you $50 if you take us to all the pizza shops to find our friends and I think they're on Red River." I told him that I'd do it but there weren't many, if any pizza shops on Red River. He gave me the $100 bill upfront and away we went. I drove he and is date/girl down two blocks and on the way he said "if we can find them right away the $100 is yours." Hell yeah! I stopped and explained that there were two pizza shops two doors down and I told him I would wait until he came back. I turned down 3 uphill rides waiting and was fine with that. 10 minutes later he showed up with a thumbs up and said "it's yours, thank you!" Thank me? no sir, thank you! The next ride was a wannabehottie who asked if I would take her 6 blocks for $2 because her feet were killing her and that's all the money she had. I politely turned the ride down explaining that I was headed in due to my last ride being a $100 ride and I couldn't help that she wore those shoes and spent all of her money. It is a pedicab, not a charitycab and since it is only tips, yes we can refuse service. We are not required to take everyone for a ride that wants one. I think that's called a bus. sorry but, money talks.
All in all it was a nice welcome back and I'll see you all out there.

Once again it's been a while, but weather permitting I will be out pedicabbin Friday and Saturday night. I've recently picked skydiving as another hobby (as if I don't have enough already), so making that extra cash is going to help. So it's up to you to tip me well so I can jump out of a perfectly good airplane.
The MS150 ride in April was awesome. I think we raised $8.5 million for the National MS Society. I beat my time of last year by two hours total, so the pedicabbin definently helped. LEGS OF STEEL I TELL YOU! Maybe next year I'll do the ride on a pedicab and take a few valued customers along for the two day ride.
That's all for now, don't walk! Take a pedicab!
