The life adventures and stories of Austin, TX pedicab driver, Chad.

Friday, August 08, 2003

Last night I was just finishing up a ride and was headed back to one of the strips and heard a scream and a KUPLUNK and looked up and saw a girl laying in the middlle of 5th and Congress. The poor girl was hit by a car. No one really knew who was in the wrong, but I sped up there and called 911 and by the time the paramedics showed up she was just regaining conciousness and speaking, even though I couldn't tell what she was saying. The guys in the car (with the now broken windshield) that hit her stopped. The girl looked like she was going to be ok though she wasn't moving much at all and only appeared to have some scratches on her arms. But she was alive and very lucky. So the moral of the story is, if you are driving downtown, slow it down just a little and beaware that drunks are walking the streets and if your drunk don't walk in the streets when it's not your turn.

P.S. It sure is hard to fight crime when you busy saving lives! - PediChad
